BRC mesh — also called welded wire mesh or weldmesh — is a prefabricated steel reinforcement made of longitudinal and cross wires welded at every intersection, used to reinforce concrete slabs, foundations, and pavements. Shujaa Steel manufactures BRC mesh in Kenya to KS 2177:2017 (Weld Mesh — Specification) and KS EAS 412-3:2019 (Steel for the Reinforcement of Concrete — Welded Fabric), in grades A66, A98, and A142.

We supply BRC mesh as a continuous 48m roll — not standard 6m sheets. Fewer joints, less on-site waste, faster laying on large-area pours. As the manufacturer, not a reseller, our pricing is factory-direct.

Is BRC mesh the same as weldmesh?
BRC mesh and welded wire mesh (weldmesh) refer to the same product: prefabricated steel mesh with wires welded at every intersection, per KS 2177:2017. However, welded wire mesh in the Kenyan context is made in panels while BRC is made in rolls.

What's the difference between the grades?
The letter-number designation denotes nominal steel cross-sectional area, following standard weld mesh grading convention. Higher numbers mean thicker, more closely spaced wire and greater load capacity — A142 for heavy-duty work, A66 for lighter loads.
